Americana on Stamps

Old Glory

1954 Liberty Series Study Committee

The United States Stamp Society 1954 Liberty Series Study Committee is an informal group of philatelic specialists who share a desire to expand their knowledge about the Sixth Bureau Issue of United States postage stamps, primarily through question and answer discussions of what is known and the reporting of new varieties as they are discovered, with emphasis on postal history. Anyone with a similar passion is invited to join the group.

Americana on Stamps

The Americana Unit

The Americana Unit was founded in 1951 by a group of members of the American Topical Association who were interested in the study of those stamps from around the world that depict some aspect of "AMERICANA" - U. S. Presidents, the U.S. Flag, the Liberty Bell, the Statue of Liberty, or any philatelic recognition of the history, culture or ideals of the United States of America. Since that time, the scope of Americana philately has grown to include the conquest of space and the bicentennial of the American Revolution. The Americana Unit is now the largest and the most active philatelic club devoted to the collecting of Americana stamps and covers.
