The main tasks of the Federation are to promote Finnish philately, to support collectors, to function as a
benefit and service organization and to work as a connecting link between clubs. To serve its members and to
spread information about stamp collecting in Finland the Federation publishes a membership magazine, Filatelisti.
The idea behind the society is to preserve and improve knowledge of thematic philately among its members and
promote thematic philately in general. The main activities of the society are to hold meetings, to publish
a magazine and to organize exhibitions.Currently the society has 170 members, almost half of them from the capital area of Finland.
