A collection of over 300 postcards depicting buildings, natural settings, events and other scenes in various
Alabama cities and towns in the early 20th century. The collection can be searched by name of community,
alphabetically by title of postcard or by keyword.

The University of Alabama. The Alabama postcards digitized for this project, 234 in all, fall within the years 1900 to 1920.
The "Southern Route 66" went from the Atlantic Ocean at Jacksonville, Florida to the lonely
town of Van Horn in west Texas. Here are some vintage postcards that commemorate the Alabama section of
this wonderful road. From here you can also access similar pages for each of the other states that the highway traveled through.
